Audi reports record Middle East sales in 2011
Audi has released its Middle East sales figures for 2011. Audi claims a sales figure of 7,865 vehicles in 2011, eclipsing 2010 by 26.8 per cent. The company also claims that they are now the fastest growing premium brand in the Middle East.
The UAE saw the highest sales with 40 per cent of total Middle East sales with 3,137 units. Sales increased by 39 per cent in Dubai (1,887 units) and 42 per cent (1,250 units) in Abu Dhabi. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, 1,522 (35.7 per cent) and 1,060 (plus 3.3 per cent) vehicles were sold respectively.
Audi also managed to sell 128 units in their newly opened dealership in Iraq.
The Audi Q7 stole the thunder as the best selling model with 1,588 cars sold in 2011. The A8 L sales rose by a 280.5 per cent to 1,484 units. The Q5 compact managed 1,218 units. The Audi A6 grew by nine per cent to 1,127 units in 2011.
