Due to the fast development of Chinese car market, the appetite of Chinese buyer changes rapidly. Mini SUVs and compact cars are back. This time, they are not the synonym of "cheap and cheerful". They are small and fine.

Ford EcoSport is a SUV sharing the platform of Ford Fiesta. The name came from a model based on a SUV building on the platform of Ford Mondeo and sold in Brazil. Now the new body with old name will be unveiled at New Delhi Auto Show. EcoSport is part of "One ford" concept targeting the EU including the UK, South America, North America and China. A source of Netease Auto said that an insider of Ford revealed that a Mini SUV with Fiesta beneath will be localized and put into market in 2014. Now the pre-production research project has been launched in the R&D center in Nanjing.  

In terms of outlook, lower at the front bumper and side sills are covered with plastic coating, while the car is also equipped with muscular wheel arches and spare tire fixed on the back, which further underscores the model's off-road intentions. A chrome luggage rack was equipped on the roof, rear side windows are equipped with the Ford-specialized lines up window design. EcoSport features a large trapezoidal front grille, and a slimmer front light. The design was from Ford Evos launching on the Frankfurt Auto show.

The power, Ford EcoSport will be equipped with Ford's first new three-cylinder 1.0 l turbocharged EcoBoost engine. This engine will output 118 horsepower and 125 lb – ft torque.

Since the Indian market will be the new models' first landing market, EcoSport will be launched in the New Delhi auto show. In addition, the New Delhi auto show is becoming increasingly  important. Jaguar Land Rover will be absent in Detroit auto show, but only to focus on the New Delhi auto show.
