Lexus Releases Two More Photos of LF-LC Concept

Just the Facts:

  • Lexus has released two more photos — but no more information — on the LF-LC.
  • The LF-LC is described by Toyota’s premium brand as a “future hybrid sport coupe concept.”
  • The concept will be formally unveiled next week at the Detroit auto show.

TORRANCE, California — Lexus has released two more photos — but no more information — on the LF-LC, described by Toyota’s premium brand as a “future hybrid sport coupe concept.” The swoopy two-door will be formally unveiled next week at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

The LF-LC so far has been teased in a handful of official photos released ahead of the show by Lexus, as well as a series of photos from at least one publication that appears to have been given advance access to the car.

In a press release, Lexus said the concept is a 2+2 coupe that was “crafted from a clean sheet of paper” at Toyota’s Calty Design Center in Newport Beach, California, and features “emotive, avant-garde beauty and unequalled technology” intended to “advance the redefinition of Lexus.”

The car will be fitted with the company’s Advanced Hybrid Drive, Lexus said, without providing further details.

Britain’s Autocar magazine is speculating that the LF-LC concept prefigures a proposed Lexus coupe-cabriolet based on the big LS sedan and targeted for production around 2015 as a spiritual successor to the defunct SC coupe.

Inside Line says: Looks a bit like an LFA whose mother was scared by a GS 350.
