The new Citroën DS3 Ultra Prestige has been launched in the UK, with prices starting from £20,700. It comes fitted with a choice of two engines – either the firm's THP 155 petrol engine that achieves 47.1mpg or the stop-start equipped e-HDI 110 diesel unit, which achieves 74.4mpg on a combined cycle. Both are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Features of the new car include 'watchstrap' design front seats, which are finished in 'club' leather and an Alpine white, leather-covered dashboard strip. The instrument dials are also colour coded to the white of the interior's detailing.

Based on the DS Sport model, the Ultra Prestige is available in two body colours – Polar White and Thorium Grey. External touches include tinted windows, rear spoiler and 17-inch charcoal-grey alloys. On its roof, the 'Ultra Prestige' graphic "provides a range of subtle contrasts, shifting from matt to gloss as the light changes," according to the firm.

Standard kit includes colour sat-nav, rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps and heated door mirrors.

Prices for the efficient diesel variant – which emits 99g/km of Co2 – come in at a £200 premium over the petrol model, at £20,900.
