Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is among the honourees at
the forthcoming
annual amfAR New York gala in February. The black-tie event, which
acts an unofficial start to New York Fashion Week, will also be
honouring Chopard's co-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and
Goldman Sachs Gives.
All the recipients will pick up Awards of Courage in recognition for
their work to raise awareness of the disease and support of amfAR.
Since its inception in 1998, the gala has also honoured other fashion
names including Donna Karan, Carine Roitfeld, Diane von Furstenberg,
and Anna Wintour.
This year's gala, which is sponsored by Hublot and Mac Cosmetics,
will be hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker at the Cipriani Wall Street and
will also feature a live auction of luxury items to raise funds for
AIDS research.
