Joseph Bonnar, Edinburgh

The antique jeweller extraordinaire of Edinburgh. I defy anyone not to feel the air of nonchalant chic that pervades this place.

Inprint, stroud

An out-of-print bookshop in Gloucestershire with a glorious selection of literary delicacies – perfect for an artistic bibliophile like me!

Prestat london,
S
W1

A chocolate shop in Princes Arcade off Piccadilly. I love the packaging. The contents are good but it is the colours on the boxes and the graphics that really tickle my fancy.

Mariage Frères, Paris

Tea shop du jour for an Out of Africa vibe and the biggest selection under the sun, all served by the smartest suited and booted waiters I’ve ever seen in a tea shop.

Les Puces de Montreuil, Paris

A hedonistic mix of tat and the amazing, this fleamarket is not for the faint-hearted, but you can certainly unearth some treasures. Saturday to Monday; Porte de Montreuil métro

Ina, New York

This second-hand designer store is my absolute favourite, because someone who sells there has a penchant for Chanel and the same size feet as me. Lush.

Caurnie Soap, Edinburgh

This stall is the main draw for me at the city’s weekly farmers’ market on Castle Terrace. Caurnie’s all-natural products blow my mind. The nettle range has a miraculous effect on eczema.
