Tough Tilda Goes Soft In Lanvin (And We Like!)

It’s no secret that we continually swoon over Ms. Swinton’s particular brand of red carpet glam, but we’re used to a certain touch of — how do we put this? —
testosterone,
when it comes to her attire.

Entering into the SAG Awards style showdown last night, we were not only super surprised to find Tilda deviating from her preferred designer, rabble-rouser Haider Ackermann, but actually found ourselves loving the refreshingly angelic look of her Lanvin!

The custom-made off-white, gathered-jersey goddess gown, paired with a sick, thick Fred Leighton cuff, made us instantly think modern-day Aphrodite. Although she was beaten out for Best Actress by Viola Davis, no one could touch her in the Best Dressed category (Side note: So sad to ask, but didn’t runner-up Michelle Williams’ shoes look a little Chinese Laundry?). One thing’s for certain, we like the hard and soft sides to Tilda’s style.
