Guess the number of fashion weeks in India is going to grow manifold
with another fashion
week exclusively focused on kids' fashion getting added to the
existing ones. After the exclusive Men's Fashion Week, India is
going to host its first ever India Kids Fashion Week from January 17
to 19, 2012 in Mumbai. Around 500 kids of age group (4-14) will be
selected from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to walk the ramp during this
event.
The three day gala will see 24 shows with eight designers showcasing
every day. From shoes, stylish outfits to accessories, kids are all
set to sashay down the runway in outfits by designers Rocky S, Nishka
Lulla and Narendra Kumar among others. Kids' wear brands like
Barbie, Little Kangaroos, Just for Kids, and Kidology with designer
collections by Raghuvendra Rathore, Malini Ramani, Gauri and Nainika
and Gaurav Gupta will also be the part of the show.
The decision to organise a kids' fashion event is inspired by the
fact that kids' fashion industry is booming in India and the market
in terms of branded retail has gone up by 25 to 30 per cent. And apart
from many Indian brands, international labels like Fendi, Burberry are
planning kids' collection.
