The Descendants (and former OC) star Shailene Woodley [1] is new to
the red carpet circuit but she's already poised to be a fashion
darling. The 20-year-old actress looked shimmery and lovely in
Marchesa at the Golden Globes [2] last night, elegant in Calvin Klein
at the Critic's Choice Awards [3], and has generally been making
great choices at premieres and photo calls for The Descendants. So
what to make of her decision to change into those really weird Vibram
'Five Finger" shoes with her sleek one-shouldered black cut-out
dress to the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party?

On the red carpet for the Globes, Woodley thanked Tabitha Simmons for
her comfortable shoes. But it seems they weren't comfortable enough.
While I'm no fan of these shoes, especially on the red carpet (they
even weird me out on runners), I've got to give her credit for
saying 'fuck it' to the red carpet in the name of comfort. I
don't like wearing heels for more than a couple hours either. The
Telegraph's [4] Belinda White was not amused, however, warning
Woodley "Every move you make, every fashion mistake, we'll be
watching you." Yikes. I wouldn't go that far. But a chic flat
would have done the job, too.
