Manolo's Making A Comeback

This season, sky high-heels and disco platforms are taking a backseat to softer, more feminine shoes. Those sexy red soles certainly have not gone away, but kitten heels, court shoes and mules are what women are really lusting after for spring. It seems then, that it is an appropriate time for the master of demure footwear, Manolo Blahnik, to make his return to the spotlight. And that’s precisely what he’s doing.

Blahnik’s shoes have been selling out everywhere, celebrities like Kate Moss and Sarah Jessica Parker are once again flocking to his classics, and recently, he debuted several pairs of sleek, pointed-toe pumps made exclusively for J.Crew at the brand’s fall 2012 presentation. Now, Hong Kong’s most luxe department store Lane Crawford is dedicating an entire space to the designer’s personal photographs, inspiration pieces, collaborative items and best of all, a collection of 10 shoe styles straight from his archive.

The vintage shoes available for purchase date all the way back to 1974, and include pieces like Blahnik’s Mondrian pumps and a popular pair of mesh lace-up booties. Also available are items that Manolo specially designed for the collaboration, like a Fortum & Mason hamper, Olmetto silk scarves and CausseGantier gloves.

We’re loving all of the offerings from Lane Crawford, and are glad to see Manolo making moves again in the fashion business. This year is one that will undoubtedly be his.
